K9 Handler

Before K9 handler, we are searchers. Thorough we certify our K9s in a number of certification agencies. It takes about 18-24months to bring a new dog to certification. In the meantime, the handler also needs to learn many things to be able to respond, to be able to act as leader of a team (K9 and them), to be self-sufficient. Some of the certifications and skills we require of our Handlers include: Incident Command, First-aid/CPR, Communications, NASAR SARTECH II, K9 First aid

Flanker/Searcher

When the handler is focusing on the K9, other searchers are supporting. Paying attention to tracks, clues, paying attention to safety issues or the radio. Flankers can be Handlers in training, in-between K9 partners or, just wanting to help but focused around the K9 resource. These members are expected to maintain the basic Search skills and certifications with SARTECH II, First-aid, NIMS/ICS.

Boat/Dive support

Central Montana is home to a little creek called the Missouri River. As a result, a large number of searches occur in/around waterways. We are looking for a handful of individuals with resources to contribute to these types of searches. We are not looking to build a water rescue team, this is specifically to directly support the K9 resource by transport, and/ or boating around to allow them to search on the water. Divers are used to training (K9s alert on divers) and have small recovery ability. K9s can dramatically speed up the recovery processed of water recovery by keying in on areas for a dive team to search.

Base support

It is truly a team effort, if you think you cant ruck in the field but can drive, document at a mission base, Ham radio operator, Drone (sUAS), Therapy/counseling/Chaplin, or have some other skill such as marketing, fundraising, or admin skills?

We don't need an Army but if you hold any of these skills and want to help. Drop a line and we would love to talk to you.
